Large "Dazzle" arch shaped sculpture by Australian ceramicist Jenni Oh, from December 2023.
The bold geometric designs in this series were inspired by the "dazzle" camouflage employed on British ships during WW1, that was designed to confuse and of course not to conceal.
"It’s interesting this intersection of art and war, how something that looks so fun and joyous can also represent death and destruction.”
This striking arched shaped work is double sided, with a "dazzle" design in blue and white on front and back, and black and white on the sides. With a wide, flat base, it's perfect for a shelf, a stool or on the floor.

Now based in Australia, Jenni was born in Singapore then lived and worked in London and Rome. This global perspective is evident in an aesthetic that falls somewhere between European and Eastern with wide-ranging influences from Japanese, Korean and Chinese ancient ceramics to Scandinavian and mid-century design, Bauhaus and even kawaii culture. Her ceramics, both decorative and utilitarian in nature, seek to sing in the spaces they occupy.
