DEA EAST | LOCATION
DEA EAST | 674 Bourke St REDFERN NSW 2016 | AUSTRALIA
Located in the leafy village at the start of Bourke Street, Redfern, DEA EAST is just south of the corner of Cleveland St.
It's normally open Tue to Sun with shorter hours on Weekends. Please check our HOURS page (or Google Maps) for exact times or in case of any changes due to holidays or special seasons.
For directions and attractions see below:
When Bourke St crosses over Cleveland St from Surry Hills into East Redfern it becomes two way, and there is a right hand turn possible from Cleveland if travelling east. DEA EAST is on the first block on the left heading south, so park as soon as you're able. Parking can be a little tight, but often there will be one near the front of the shop, otherwise there's generally always a spot in Boronia St, or further down Bourke.
If coming from DEA WEST, head east via Raglan St, then Phillip St, then come up Bourke St from the south towards Cleveland and we're on the right in the final block.
Take the 374 from Central Station Eddy Ave towards Coogee. It's then only 6 stops until the corner of Bourke and Cleveland. Otherwise, get off any bus stopping at Oxford St, Taylor Square (such as the 333), and it's a lovely 15 min walk south through leafy Surry Hills.
BY TRAIN / LIGHT RAIL
Get a train to Central Station, then exit onto Chalmers St. Take the Light Rail up Devonshire St to the Surry Hills stop near Crown St. We're then a short walk east from Crown to Bourke, then head south at Bourke St Bakery and cross over Cleveland.
40 mins from Sydney city centre
10-15 mins from the middle or top of Surry Hills
10 mins from Danks St, Waterloo
20-25 mins from DEA WEST
If coming from DEA WEST, walk north up Regent St to Redfern St, then turn right and head east through the middle of Redfern, past Redfern Park and up a small hill until the very end of the street. Then it's a short dog leg left and right onto Boronia St, which runs all the way to Bourke. Then turn left and head north one block and DEA EAST is on the right.
