Small ceramic cups with ohinasama designs, by Hikari Masuda, from the exhibition "serious PLAY", August 2025 at DEA EAST.

In Japanese culture, 3rd March is hinamatsuri, a traditional Japanese festival celebrating the future happiness and well-being of girls. Families often mark the occasion with elaborate, multi-level displays of dolls, topped with those representing the emperor and empress (the empress dolls are called ohinasama).

These adorable little cups are Hikari's take on ohinasama, but rendered as a bear (of course!). Perfect for asian tea, small coffees or water.

There are nine to choose from - each one with its own style and personality.
