Cast in fine porcelain and then hand painted, each cup features a large face on two sides and a tiny cheeky face on the handle.

Hikari Masuda is a ceramicist based in Tokoname, Japan, a town with a ceramic history reaching back more than 1000 years. Her joyful, playful work is rich in vivid folkloric depictions of animals and mythical creatures - her masterful output incorporates many forms and glazes, including figurines, vases, cups, bowls and stunning decorative plates.
