Medium-sized "Abyss" plate in Bizen black-fired "wild porcelain", by Kazuya Ishida from June 2026.
Kazuya-san's "Abyss" works are formed from wood-fired wild porcelain clay mixed with cobalt, resulting in a dazzling galaxy of textured blue and white.
This magnificent example is no exception, featuring a raised rim around flat central area, strewn with small white ceramic shards in a background of pale and dark blue - reminiscent of a deep, frozen alpine pool.
This is one of two Abyss plates in this series - sold individually but perfect as a pair.
