Richard Gurney lives in Sydney and has a long practice of drawing, which has lately incorporated painting. His recent work is increasingly drawn from real life sources.
His works at DEA are based on photos taken during COVID lockdown, elevating domestic composure into temporal portraits.
Richard has been a supporter and customer of DEA since its inception and is a lifelong friend of its founder, Karin. She has likewise been a longtime admirer of his art and dreamt of one day showing it in her store. We're overjoyed to finally be able to present these beautiful and tender works to our customers.
