Richard Gurney is an Australian artist who lives and works in Sydney. His creative output started at a young age and his work has spanned many mediums. He's had a long practice of drawing, which has lately incorporated painting, and his recent work has increasingly drawn from real life sources.
His works at DEA are based on photos taken during COVID lockdown, elevating domestic composure into temporal portraits.
Richard has been a supporter and customer of DEA since its inception and is a lifelong friend of founder, Karin. She has likewise been a longtime admirer of his art and dreamt of one day showing some in her store. We're overjoyed to finally be able to present these beautiful and tender works to our customers.
