Lihnida Krstanoska-Blazeska is a multidisciplinary artist, currently based on Gadigal Land in Sydney, Australia.
Approaching sculpture in a playful manner, Lihnida constructs surreal figurative forms primarily using slab and coil ceramic techniques.
Bringing her pieces to life with a range of ceramic pencils, glazes and lustre, Lihnida's works draw inspiration from children’s cartoons and fantasy creatures.
Built from the ground up, with no preparatory drawings, the placement of each limb and appendage guides the next until the work is resolved.
When Lihnida was introduced to us, we couldn't resist her fun and playful forms. Clay has so many languages and we love how joyfully it speaks in her work - so spontaneous and so beautifully made at the same time.
