When ceramicist Erez Ben-Or first approached us with his incredible work, we literally gasped. Being a big fan of brutalist architecture (and sci -fi film), we naturally took all that he offered. We felt his work filled a gap in our collection, which tends more towards the rounded and organic.
His brave pieces are rich in texture and so cleverly designed, that when turned they often shift and mutate into a different work, albeit of the same set.
We always think a resolved piece of art surprises you, leading one to think ‘I can’t believe someone hasn’t thought of this before - it’s so perfect, it existed before it was made’.
Monumental and textured, each piece is heroic in stance. Like buildings in a city skyline, silently stoic ... enduring.
