Japanese vintage wooden bowl, finished in red urushi (Japanese lacquer).

This lovely, deep vessel is raised on a small base, with high sides curving outwards at the rim, and finished in a deep, red urushi (Japanese lacquer).

Part of the rim has been repaired, so it's not suitable for hot or moist food. However it's ideal for serving snacks or nuts, as a centrepiece or even as a small fruit bowl.
