Deceptively simple, these three-legged leaf plates by Kowari Tetsuya contain tiny worlds of epic landscapes; pooling lakes, vast beaches and shifting earth. 

Fired over multiple days in a traditional Anagama kiln, Oribe glaze and iron oxide washes are applied in a manner similar to sumi-e or Japanese ink paintings, embodying the tranquil and complex beauty of the natural world.
