This Japanese vintage, ceramic, lidded pot was most likely used for serving "Chawan Mushi" - a super delicious, savoury steamed egg custard, that's often mixed with seafood, mushrooms or chicken.
It would also have found use in multi-course Kaiseki dining - perhaps filled with a burdoch root or small potato salad.
These traditional dishes transport us straight back to some of our happiest dining experiences in Japan.
In a soft beige crackle glaze with lovely dark green highlights.
