Rounded guinomi (sake cup) in oribe (with a hint of saishiki) by Tetsuya Kowari from March 2026.

Guinomi are a prized art in Japanese culture, and Tetsuya Kowari’s vessels are no exception.

Sensual curves meet unexpected angels in a harmonious fusion of freedom and control, while glassy green surfaces give way to moments of exposed clay.

The finish on this work is particularly special, in that he introduces just a touch of his colourful, graphic, saishiki style, with a hint of blue and red underneath the more traditional green and burnt clay of the oribe

Each cup is an embodiment of the marriage between fire, clay and glaze, a true emblem of ceramic mastery and tradition.
