Large, wide, five-sided vessel by Suvira McDonald from November 2024.
With sloping, flat sides, joined at sharp angles, and finished in Suvira's signature palette of soft desert hues, this striking vessel is reminiscent of an imposing granite outcrop, and functions perfectly well as both a sculptural piece a vase.

Suvira McDonald is a legendary potter based in Northern NSW, whose career spans more than 30 years.
He's known for his lush, generous forms and glazes, and many pieces are wood fired in a Japanese style anagama kiln. Crackled, fire-coloured surfaces that look like the vessel is itself a glowing ember are a hallmark of McDonald's style.
Each piece is like an artwork in its own right, inviting extended contemplation and use, which rewards with a deeper connection to the vessel.
