Tania Mason is a Sydney artist known for her dreamy water colours often depicting fairy tales or botanical dreamscapes.

In this series, Tania fuses the cool palette of blue, grey and white with gouache depicting landscape scenes as if looking out of a window on holiday in Italy. You can almost hear the cicadas singing.

Cactus Love

"Titled ‘Cactus Love’, these ceramic hand-made works are based around the beautiful dead city called Pompeii, Italy. In 2017 I took a journey to a city of the dead and fell in love with the peeling, decaying frescoes from so long ago! The opacity and yet the strength of these walls and floors of these ancient dwellings were breath taking! 

So Cactus Love had to made! They are hand made plaster tiles. Painted with gouache to create the opacity of the frescoes while still relaying the simplicity of nature! They will last for eternity in their little wooden box frames!".
