However he has refined and extended this process, including the addition of finely ground stone, to produce the signature finish he calls \u003cem\u003eshirokake\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHis other \u003cem\u003ekake\u003c\/em\u003e glazes are \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ekurokake\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e - similar to \u003cem\u003eshirokake\u003c\/em\u003e but with dark slip with high iron content - and \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003ematsukake\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e - a matte ash glaze made from burning pine needles.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eHis \u003cstrong\u003e\u003cem\u003emishima\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e finish is a traditional Japanese and Korean technique, where bamboo or iron tools are used to carve intricate patterns which are then inlayed with white slip and wiped back. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Toru Hatta","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47059188318362,"sku":"TH260148","price":1065.0,"currency_code":"AUD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0036\/8898\/8783\/files\/E291DB75-783D-45D3-B661-93DF1618A0ED.jpg?v=1770864926","url":"https:\/\/thedeastore.com\/products\/toru-hatta-20260148","provider":"THE DEA STORE","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
