Stunning deep platter by Hikari Masuda, featuring a hand painted scene of the forest, based on the design of "Hanafuda" Japanese playing cards.

"Hanafuda" (Flower Card) cards are smaller than western cards and feature plants, animals, birds, or man-made objects on their face.

This unique piece has been rendered even more special, as it's been repaired at the base with "kintsugi". The gold colour of the kintsugi work perfectly compliments the colouring of the platter, and almost seems intentional.
